Description
## Strategic Finding
**Type**: roadmap-gap / ecosystem-opportunity
**Horizon**: mid-term
ROADMAP.md Phase 2 lists "Good-first-issue curation to recruit human contributors" as an exit criterion for the project outliving its single maintainer. Today there are **zero open issues labeled `good first issue`**. The backlog is almost entirely agent-filed and agent-scoped (hive automation, validators, CI) — a human newcomer landing on the repo has no obvious first contribution.
## Rationale
- The bus-factor work (#47, MAINTAINERS.md) and governance (#60) are necessary but not sufficient: maintainers are recruited from contributors, and contributors are recruited from good first issues.
- Several open issues are natural candidates: #77 (awards historical verification — research + data entry, well-scoped), #75 (events page upcoming-event tracking), #80 (architectures freshness indicator — small frontend task).
- Phase 1 content pillars (#74–#80) will finish via agent work; the differentiator for Phase 2 is whether any *humans* show up. That pipeline starts now, not after Phase 1 closes.
## Proposed Next Step
Curate 3–5 issues with the `good first issue` label, each with: a clear scope, a pointer to the relevant file(s), and acceptance criteria. Candidates: #77, #75, #80, plus a docs/typo sweep. Then reference them from CONTRIBUTING.md.
