`data/awards.json` contains 15 award entries. ROADMAP.md Phase 1 requires a "complete historical winner list, each entry verified against its cncf.io announcement." Completeness against the full history of CNCF End User Awards (all years, all categories) is currently unverified, and there is no record of which entries have been source-checked.

## Rationale

Awards are a "content accuracy" item under GOVERNANCE.md — always human-reviewed, never automerged — which makes them the highest-trust content on the site. An incomplete or unverified winner list is a factual-accuracy risk on exactly the content class the governance doc treats as most sensitive. Well-scoped verification work (one year at a time, each with a cncf.io source link) is also ideal good-first-issue material for the contributor recruitment proposed in #47.

## Proposed Next Step

Audit awards.json against the full CNCF End User Award history on cncf.io/announcements; add a `source` URL field per entry linking its announcement; file gaps as discrete per-year issues labeled `good first issue`. Acceptance: every entry has a source link, and the count matches the published award history.
