# Cloud Native Iron Chef

## Description

A monthly challenge pitting two cloud native community members against each other in a battle of cunning and skill. Cloud Native Iron Chef lets viewers of all experiences watch as contestants have to solve a challenge given to them live. While there is no right answer, their solution will be judged on efficiency, scalability, and completeness.

Challenges can range from a coding challenge, a broken Kubernetes cluster, or a GitHub issue that needs to be addressed. There's a pretty wide range of original and fun challenges that could be thrown at the contestants.

The format would be (roughly)
- 5 minute intro
- 5 minute "secret ingredient" reveal
- 30 minutes for contestants to work
- During this, the host will bounce between contestants' screens asking questions (including audience questions)
- 10 minutes for "judging" by the host, including discussions with contestants
- 1-2 minute outro

## Elevator Pitch

Imagine two cloud native community members pitched in a battle to solve a problem the fastest, but with an emphasis on having fun. Wouldn't that be cool? Oh this is my floor.

### Prior experience

Besides that, I'm a CNCF ambassador and avid speaker on Kubernetes and CNCF community topics. I try to encourage people to join the community and learn about cloud native technologies with fun examples and silly events. Locally, I'm a board member of the local CNCF meetup in Ann Arbor.
