Description
Hey, CF folks,
The following commit moved the Sidecar Buildpacks documentation to archive/:
https://github.com/cloudfoundry/docs-buildpacks/commit/ad940a9b42106909bf46f0dfbc05b12af8ae23d2
However, the commit does not reference any issue, story, or decision explaining why the documentation was archived.
Could you clarify:
- Are Sidecar Buildpacks / buildpack-supplied sidecars now deprecated or unsupported?
- If they are still supported, what is the current canonical documentation?
- If they are deprecated, what is the recommended replacement?
The current CAPI implementation and tests still appear to support sidecars, so the archived documentation makes the support status unclear.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the Sidecar Buildpacks documentation under archive/ and commit ad940a9, then compare its claims with the current CAPI implementation and tests mentioned in the issue. This is done when maintainers establish whether sidecars are supported, deprecated, or replaced, and the documentation points to the canonical guidance.
