Description

Sorry if I am wrong about this, I have read the code, the documentation, and installed the app and could not find any mention of web proxies.

Many enterprises use a web proxy for access from internal servers to public web endpoints, to avoid needing custom firewall rules to the internet. Many pull-based data ingestion Splunk Add-Ons/modular inputs support this. One example is the Splunk Add-On for Amazon Web Services, which we hoped to avoid by using this Cloudflare R2 Add-on. Many other Add-Ons also.

Support for proxy configuration is part of the Splunk Universal Configuration Console (UCC) Framework that was used to build this Cloudflare R2 Add-On, so it may be trivial to add support for this: https://splunk.github.io/addonfactory-ucc-generator/configurations/proxy/

Please consider adding this in future versions. It would greatly simplify implementation in real customer environments.

Cheers,
Glenn
