Description

By default the Knative KafkaSink sends messages in structured mode. And my CloudEventDeserializer was failing to handle that form. Switching the KafkaSink to binary worked. But it'd be great if the CloudEventDeserializer also worked with the structured mode.

Research direction

Start by locating the Java CloudEventDeserializer implementation and its Kafka integration tests, then trace how structured and binary Kafka messages are decoded. Reproduce the structured-mode failure described for Knative KafkaSink and add coverage showing that structured CloudEvents deserialize successfully while existing binary behavior remains intact.
