Description

Peggy would like Dan V to lead an effort to create an executive dashboard with key metrics about department performance. From my message to Dan and Jace:

> We currently have access to PowerBI, so I think it makes sense for use to set you up with access to PowerBI so that you can run with it. None of us are PowerBI experts, but we can point you to training and are happy to help troubleshoot issues.
>
> So my team's role here is to:
>
> 1) Make sure you have access to and support for a BI tool to create your dashboard
>
> 2) Understand your data needs, point you to the right data sources, and, ideally, automate the data flow from the various sources to a central location that powers your dashboard.
>
> 3) Get feedback from you on what is/isn't working for you with PowerBI, because we want to stay open to the idea that PowerBI might not be the right solution for our department in the long term. So your dashboarding experience will be serving as a case study for us.
>
> Jace will need a bit more lead time to get his work going, and in the meantime it sounds like you and Peggy have work to do defining metrics you want to display.
>
> How does that all sound to you?

Research direction

The issue names no repository files, tests, or entry points. Start by reviewing the requested department metrics, data needs, and PowerBI access requirements with the stakeholders. Done would require an agreed executive dashboard scope, defined metrics and data sources, and a working dashboard, but the issue does not specify implementation details.
