Are there plans to support standard Markdown syntax?

Great project. I tried the demo and encountered some issues:

- When pasting Markdown content and then selecting all and copying it to a plain text editor, many Markdown styles are lost.
- The background color of code blocks is too similar to the page background; it would be better if it were a bit brighter or if a border were added.
- Lack of code highlighting.
- Hyperlinks cannot be edited.
- Perhaps it would be better to open links with ctrl+click?

Reproduce the demo behavior described in the issue by pasting Markdown, copying it to a plain-text editor, inspecting code blocks, and trying to edit or open hyperlinks. Done should cover the listed Markdown preservation, code-block appearance and highlighting, hyperlink editing, and link-opening concerns, but the issue does not identify files or tests.
