Description
Greetings,
Phanpy is by far my favorite mastodon client. One of the features I love in particular is the ability to disable the auto refresh of the timeline. This is because I have ADHD which makes social media with infinite timelines incredibly troublesome as I'm more vulnerable to "rabbit holing" or excessive use of things which can so easily grab my attention. But, Phanpy could help by taking a couple of steps further, offering some experimental settings meant to minimize points of engagement. That is if it works with your view of Phanpy.
Here is an initial list of things that would be awesome to have toggle settings for:
- Disable "New posts" pop-up.
- Disable numbered boosts in the boost carousel (initially mislead me into thinking it was a boost count)
- Disable the reply count next to all posts
- Disable or in some way able to set the only notifications to be mentions and/or follow requests when account locked.
- Disable follows and follower count both on your own profile and all others.
From my perspective the worst of these is the "New posts" pop-up. I think it makes a lot of sense to have it disabled if you also have the refreshing timeline disabled. In which case it is clear you want Mastodon to have less of a hold on your attention.
