Description

Site: local domain

Version: latest commit on main

Instance: thecanadian.social

Browser: IronFox 152.0

I am running Phanpy on my local server. Using an internal domain.

I can't seem to get push notifications for Phanpy.

On my IronFox, I can get push notifications directly from my instance if I enable notifications on the web interface of my instance.

But not when using phanpy.

Do I need to have an externally accessible phanpy for push notifications to work?

EDIT: apologies. I should have created this as a regular issue. Not a bug 🙏

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or code entry points. Start by reproducing push-notification setup on an internally hosted Phanpy instance and compare it with notifications enabled directly on the Mastodon instance; done means documenting the hosting requirement or confirming and fixing supported local-domain behavior.
