Description

Using ISO 8601 would prevent confusion between US/rest of world date formatting when using the `xx/xx/xxxx` format. And you could still use your nice fuzzy matching.

As usual, XKCD speaks the truth:

Research direction

The issue names no file, test, or entry point. Start by locating where timeline dates and fuzzy matching are handled, then verify the current `xx/xx/xxxx` output; done means dates use ISO 8601 without losing fuzzy matching.
