Description
The engine is being developed with the intention to operate on a wider range of platforms, therefore the implementation of DirectX or Metal rendering backends is currently not a priority, as Vulkan works on Windows, Linux, macOS/iOS/iPadOS/tvOS (MoltenVK), Android, Nintendo Switch, Raspberry Pi. The only place where other graphics APIs might be required is on consoles (Xbox, PlayStation), but at the moment their support is low priority task, and the PlayStation API is also under NDA. Support for OpenGL also makes no sense, as most modern devices support at least Vulkan API 1.0
