nose.failure.Failure - tests failing

This may be related to https://github.com/ceph/s3-tests/issues/233, I'm hitting 30+ failures that are renaming the tests to nose.failure.Failure.
Is this related to broken import statements? An error in the python code is detailed here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27796643/nosetest-initialisation-error
Anyone know if it's the same issue?
I'm using python 2.7
