[Idea] Renderless components with pluggable default controlled dumb components

@casesandberg First things first, thanks a lot for the great library!
Out of curiosity, I have the following question...
What do you think about the idea of creating some kind of reusable (renderless) API that can be used in conjunction with pluggable controlled dumb components with only rendering related logic?
P.S. An inspiration taken from https://react-hook-form.com/get-started

Start by reviewing the existing react-color components and the linked react-hook-form example to understand the proposed renderless and controlled-component patterns. The issue does not name files, tests, or a settled API, so completion would require defining the design and agreeing on the scope before implementation.
