[dns] resolve service using internal (short) name?

Given a svc with the following FQDN:

`foo.default.svc.cluster.local`

is there a configuration option that will allow me to resolve using the "short" name:

`foo.default`

No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by determining how kwt currently handles DNS resolution for Kubernetes services, then verify whether configuration can support resolving foo.default as well as foo.default.svc.cluster.local and document or test the resulting behavior.
