standard-version is deprecated

I saw `np` was replaced with `standard-version`, so I went to the npm page to check how it works and saw it was deprecated two years ago.

Also the CONTRIBUTING.md file says that `npm publish` should be used for publishing, but I think `npm run release` should be used? as the `release` script is the one running `standard-version`

Start with CONTRIBUTING.md and the project’s release script to compare the documented npm publish flow with the command that runs standard-version. Confirm how the deprecated tool should be handled and which release command is supported, then update the release configuration and documentation so the process is consistent.
