Description
We have a new release of Ubuntu LTS, namely Ubuntu Resolute 26.04, and very soon our products, running on baremetal servers, will require to use this new version.
Thinking about :
* Canonical Openstack (with the imminent release of 2026.1 on top of Ubuntu 26.04)
* Ceph
* Canonical k8s
Currently the hardware observer charm doesn't provide any support to Ubuntu 26.04, as seen from Charmhub :

Research direction
Start by inspecting the hardware observer charm's Ubuntu support configuration and its published Charmhub metadata. Check how supported operating-system versions are declared and verify the result against Ubuntu 26.04 on the target bare-metal environment. Done means the charm advertises and operates correctly with Ubuntu 26.04.
