When using using #explore, baritone doesn't cache blocks

When using #explore, baritone is set up to cache nether_portal blocks, but later when I use #find, it doesn't say it has found any in its cache. It has worked a few times, but I haven't been able to replicate that reliably, and it only remembers some of the blocks, even though It should have seen more.
