Schematic Building Setting

When building a schematic with a base scaffold already built the ai decided that 20 blocks is too far to travel to go up and builds its own pillar up instead and then destroy it right afterwards. What if a setting was added that denied the building of anything but the schematic inside the build area so the already built and easier to use pathways will actually be used?
