Left navigation bar always resets on clicks

**Describe the problem:**
When I click on a link on the left that I had to scroll down to see, it resets when I click it which loses my place in the navigation bar.

Ideally, I would like the left bar to remain where it was when loading the right page so I don't lose my place in the navigation of the site.

Reproduce the reset by scrolling the left navigation pane and clicking a lower link from any page. Start by locating the navigation pane entry point in the website source, then verify that the pane keeps its prior position after navigation; done means the clicked page loads without losing that place.
