Occassionally the deserializer takes a long time to parse the document

At least once daily the component will freeze up.

I increased the log statements and it reports "Waiting for signal clearence" before completely pausing.

Sometimes delay lasts 3 minutes, sometimes 15.

Start by locating the deserializer path that emits "Waiting for signal clearence" and trace what happens while that signal is pending. Reproduce the intermittent pause and determine whether it can be observed reliably; done should mean the document parses without multi-minute freezes and the behavior is covered by an appropriate regression check.
