Research direction
Start in the Blink settings and Code Remote connection flow, reproducing the reported behavior with a Windows remote server. Trace how the configured path is interpreted when it begins with ~/ and compare it with a Windows absolute path such as c:/. Done means a Windows remote path can be configured or handled without producing an invalid path.
