Description

Any thoughts on writing funcs for classes of types (like abstract float, or abstract tables), or is this meant to only work the specific memory layouts?

Re dispatch, can the logic be different for different argument overloads or is it just a matter of code generation?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or concrete entry points. Start by locating the type-registration and dispatch code for low-level kernels, then clarify whether abstract or structural types and overload-specific dispatch are in scope; done means the intended design and boundaries are documented.
