PT end of games? (X1/P1 series)

Hi nice ppl.
With the new bbstudio Public Release 2.2.0 it seems that for many awesome new features like remote object skipping wont work if X1/P1 series FW is not upgraded to v01.09.02.12 or later.
I still use v01.09.01.00 FW that dosent lock out our beloved Ptouch still. But now, having to load "01.09.02.xx" series firmware what PTouch will be used for and how?
Yeh there is local mode...but isn't - at least for me - what I'm looking for.

Will be announced a work around soon?
