Description

The base topic used for MQTT is not unique, I am using a bridge mode to pull data into a Mosquitto broker in Homeassistant, this means I can't use more than one pandasensepro as they will conflict. i wanted to get another for a printer in a different room but can't until this is resolved. Ideally a unique device identifier should be included perhaps based on mac address.

It would actually be better if the device could connect to an external mqtt broker as this probably how the majority of people are setup.

Research direction

Start by locating where the MQTT base topic is defined and how the device connects to a broker. Clarify whether the goal is unique per-device topics, external broker support, or both; done should allow multiple PandaSensePro devices to coexist without topic conflicts.
