Feature Request: Ability to disable the progress spinner

I want the percentage number and the percentage bar, but the rapidly and constantly spinning progress thing around the edge of the screen is distracting when using this as a remote display on my desk.

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. First locate the progress-display implementation and its configuration path, then define how the spinner can be disabled while the percentage number and bar remain visible; done means that behavior works on the remote display.
