Description
.. after I did an "apt upgrade" today my CB1 could no longer recognise any controller board via USB.
It sits in a BTT PI4B Adapter and connects to a BTT SKR pico via USB.
Same behaviour with a SKR mini 3 V2.
A fresh install with the V2.2.1 image made it work again.
Unfortunately I haven't recorded the changes done by apt-get ..

Research direction
The issue names no source files, tests, or entry points. Reproduce the failure by upgrading the CB1 image in the BTT PI4B Adapter, compare it with a fresh V2.2.1 install, and identify the upgrade change associated with USB recognition. Done means the affected controller boards are detected after upgrading.
