- license_text: I, Colin Leong (cleong1@udayton.ed), personally emailed the publisher, Diethard Ande. He had this to say:
"Dear Colin,
Yes, I have all the rights for the book
I do not fully understand the commercial implications
My money is in the printed books and I have to pay royalties to the writer
When I sell rights I share the proceeds 50 : 50 with the author. That can be translations into other languages or special print runs for specific markets etc
In most cases I do not have or approve of electronic versions as it would eat into my sale of hard copies
Do I understand it correctly that you work on a program to translate English into Hani language? It means you or other people will use your program to translate other English texts into Hani language? I do not see any problem with that,
But if you want to use it to produce a Hani version of my book, in electronic or hard copy form than it is a commercial venture and I need a share of the loot
Regards Diethard
