Description

Spam rightclick and Stop, so the unit stutter-steps.

old (1821): there are gaps in places but it starts where it left off so the footprints look like a continuous ribbon.

new (2441): each little stutter-step "resets" the decal so there's lots of ugly cutoffs and irregularity.

Research direction

Reproduce the reported behavior by rapidly right-clicking and stopping a unit to make it stutter-step, then compare the footprint decals with the old and new examples in the issue. Trace how decal continuity is handled across successive movement steps; done means stutter-stepping no longer resets the decal into irregular cutoffs.
