RTE button not working correctly

When I create a link and select the Button Primary style in RTE the button is created. After that I type further text. The further text then has another a tag with with the button classes. Source code looks like this:

So it is not possible to add some furhter text without changing the source code.

Reproduce the issue in the TYPO3 12.4.3 RTE with bootstrap_package 14.0.6 by applying the Button Primary style to a link and typing afterward. Inspect the generated HTML shown in the report; done means subsequent text no longer receives a second button-styled anchor.
