Installed package contains package.json only

after installing the package with `npm` I have discovered that the package directory contains a `package.json` file only. What happened?

The report names only the published package and its package.json; start by inspecting package.json and the repository's package or build configuration, then reproduce npm installation of the published artifact. Done means the installed package contains the intended distributable files rather than package.json alone, with a regression check added if the project has a relevant test setup.
