Description

### Description:

BC Parks program staff are looking at ways and opportunities to better track climbers at Mount Robson. Staff would like to explore how this could fit into our backcountry registration work.

### Data needs:
Data needs as identified today. Recognition that not all will be delivered at first pass.

- Date
- Name/address/phone number of group members
- Group size
- Intended Destination
- Ascent route
- Decent route
- Communication devices – spot, inreach, sat phone
- Emergency contact
- Car info
- Gear colours/identifiers

### Value:
Currently, there is no way to track how many climbers are on Mount Robson. This has created issues for visitor use management, but more importantly, for safety and rescue operations. Visitors are currently filling out a voluntary paper form at the trail head, but it is problematic and often missed - so there is often no understanding how many people are on the mountain. This work would allow BC Parks to start tracking data and information related to climbers at Mount Robison and provide more robust information for rescue operations.
