UI Design - Hybrid Amalgamations

Requirements:
1. When a COLIN company is part of an amalgamation (not yet modernized) the modernized user must enter the company password to verify they are authorized to amalgamate it
_Tehnical flow - when a COLIN company is entered an enhanced lookup takes place pulling back data from COLIN. The client is prompted for password and we compare to the data pulled in our enhanced lookup_
2. We do not need to validate BCROS affiliation for COLIN companies.

Applicable for all amalgamation types - short form, horizontal, regular.

**COLIN Enhanced Lookup** - A COLIN lookup that searches a company in COLIN and retrieves that company's tombstone data, aka Notice of Articles (NOA), as follows:
- Company number
- Company name
- Company password
- Active business addresses (x4)
- Active Corp Parties
- Directors
- Officers
- Incorporator(s)
- Completing Party (as applicable)
- Other?
- Active Shares structure

**Design Requirements for Adding Colin Businesses in the Amalgamation filing (vs. on the My Business Registry)**

**Update the current wording in the amalgamation filing**
“Important: The amalgamating businesses must be visible on your My Business Registry list before the amalgamation filing can be completed.”

**Remove this modal for Colin Businesses**

And/Or update alert in table (I can’t currently produce this state)

**Modify My BR Colin business modal**
How do users know if business is colin or modern?
Indicate if a business is colin vs modern businesses
Add note to indicate if adding for Amalg that it must be added in the application.
Add instructions for short-form amalgamations (see below)

**Authority to Manage Colin Business**
Probably a modal based on My BR affiliation modal within the Amalgamation filing
When adding Colin business in amalg, display a password or email confirmation input or send a magic link to the Registered Office email (?). No capability to request access from another account (another exception to standard business to communicate)
Error handling for PW, forgot PW, contact.
Email format validation if email used

**Adding business to amalgamation list**
loading issues / failure to load handling

**Short form amalgamation handling**
If users want to use a colin business as the primary business in a short-form amalgamation they must add a non-Colin business first or use a Name Request. This workflow is not intuitive and requires special knowledge.
How to handle this?
Note on My BR modal
Add note on amalg filing.
Note: we would need a view of a Colin business in the Modern system to accomplish this in the My BR version. If we are importing a Colin business we would have this view. What are the implications of importing a business for Amalgamation? Does it matter if they don’t complete the Amalgamation and business is managed in Colin? It’s going to happen soon anyway.

**Question**
Can the type of a Colin named business be changed between Limited and Benefit Company?
