Description

Documentation Management approach while we are migrating entities and retiring COLIN is in review.

One of the key questions raised to support the decision-making process is whether MinIO has the capability to upload documents directly from email.

Background:

We implemented documents uploading to MinIO from UI. Currently Business Registry filings that support file uploads:
1. Incorporation Application (memorandum + rules) (coops only)
2. Continuation In (proof of authorization + director's affidavit)
3. Voluntary Dissolution (affidavit) (coops only)
4. Special Resolution (memorandum + rules) (coops only)
5. Court Order (staff filing)

Currently, when a supporting document is sent to the Business Registry in the email, staff must print the document, scan it, and then upload it, making it a heavy process that adds unnecessary manual steps.

Could we please investigate the following:

1. Direct Upload from Email:
Is there a way for staff to upload documents directly from an email (e.g., from an email attachment) to eliminate printing and scanning?
2. Existing Solutions:
If there is no out-of-the-box solution, has any similar development work been done for other products or services that we could leverage or adapt?
3. Custom Integration with MinIO:
Would it be feasible to build a lightweight integration layer that captures email attachments and pushes them into MinIO using its API?
4. Other Options:
Are there any alternative approaches that could help us streamline this process?
5. Will it be just easier to integrate with DRS for documents uploading (from UI and emails)?
