Description
Issues
Users are creating BCeID's incorrectly or unnecessarily
There are currently people that submit multiple draft accounts out of confusion. It's worth investigating how the new account flow for BCeID users may be contributing to this confusion.
Goal:
- Make the account creation flow intuitive no matter what step you are on in the draft account process
- Review the order to the steps to see if having an authenticated user would assist in providing dynamic content to the user.
- Ensure people are only creating accounts using BCeID when that option is the best option for them
**Notes from Design Team Review Feb 1, 2024**
- BCROS wants to move away from BCeID as a way to verify identity for our apps
- Still want to support BCeID "short-term" - only in exceptional cases (outside of Canada)
- People have a BCeID now
- Lawyers don't want to use BCSC for verification, don’t want to use personal information at work - need to improve BCSC user experience
- Reduce/eliminate number of accounts using BCeID for log in
- Longer term want to switch people from bceid to BCSC
- Options for eliminating BCeID can be considered if alternatives to handle users outside of Canada can be found
- BTR is looking to use 3rd party authentication (STRIPE?)
- Any analytics from that page?
- are people clicking “Help me choose”?
- are user still choosing BCeID after the UI change? ("If you do not have ID issued in Canada...."
