This originated with OPS ticket 1096. The client couldn't complete an Amendment - it turned out a copy and paste was done of the Debtor Name into the Business Debtor Name field and the value contained an apostrophe. The 'Unable to complete registration" error would display with no indication of what the issue was. If you type the name into the Business Debtor Name field, the amendment completes.
We had a similar issue with copy and paste into the search parameter field. That ticket was completed and the issue was resolved.
The fix should be applied to all fields where copy and paste could occur.

Research direction
The issue names no source files, tests, or entry points. Start by reproducing the amendment flow with a copied business name containing an apostrophe, then trace the resulting error across the registration form and related fields. Done means pasted names are accepted and the amendment completes without the generic error.
