Description

**Background**

As sandbox data masking requirements need to be implemented across products, a standardized process for defining, documenting, approving, and implementing masking requirements is required. Product teams, Platform, and SRE require a consistent approach to ensure masking decisions are traceable, auditable, and repeatable.

**Objective**

Establish a standardized framework for sandbox data masking, including roles and responsibilities, documentation standards, and a centralized repository for product-specific masking inventories.

**Scope**

- [x] Define roles and responsibilities for Platform, Product teams, and SRE.
- [x] Establish the process for identifying and approving data requiring masking.
- [x] Define the required inputs for SRE implementation.
- [x] Create a standard masking inventory template.
- [x] Create a centralized and access-controlled repository for masking documentation.
- [x] Define implementation workflow
- [x] Create sandbox data masking guidance document

**Proposed Responsibility Model**

**Platform**

- Owns governance and process.
- Maintains standards, templates, and repository.
- Coordinates implementation across products.

**Product Teams**

- Identify and classify product-specific data.
- Provide table/field mappings.
- Define product-specific masking requirements.
- Approve masking decisions.

**SRE**
