Industry - Submit a report

Submit a report about identified fossils and fossil sites found during construction (“chance-find protocol”) to fulfill requirements under regulation and meet requirements of land permits.
Reports from industry will be more detailed than reports from members of the public. They will include: GPS coordinates, photos, description of site, description of fossils found (done by qualified paleo), information on the significance of the find, context/stratigraphy/geology information, information on how they are securing the area, how fossils where found (excavation, survey, etc.).

Industry Examples: Mining industry; Oil and Gas industry; energy companies; BC Hydro; Forestry companies building roads; urban development companies; Ministry of Transportation’s contractors for roads, bridges, gravel pits; gravel pit operators; foreshore developments; resort developments
