Description
Follow up work is required as a result of https://app.zenhub.com/workspaces/strr-65b2a7146835aa0cdf315b79/issues/gh/bcgov/strr/1482
SRE reconfigured the Notify service to use registry.str@gov.bc.ca, as it was pointing to the address that no longer exists, after which the service resumed working as expected. The above mailbox could be also used for citizen-facing requests to HMA or other purposes. If so, we should avoid sending non-production traffic there to prevent the inbox from becoming cluttered with test and system-generated emails.
SRE recommended the STRR team apply a dedicated, valid email address for testing purposes in the Dev, Test, and UAT environments. Housing confirmed that setting up a test mailbox is the way forward. Example: Test.STR.Registry@gov.bc.ca.
IT OPS advised that we should create a request for a shared email in MySC https://ociomysc.service-now.com/sp.
As a temporary measure to reduce traffic in the registry.str@gov.bc.ca mailbox, rules can be configured to route non-production STRR emails to a separate folder. Emails from the Dev, Test, and UAT environments contain an environment tag in the subject line, which can be used to identify and route them accordingly.
