Description
Toe slopes and depressions where water is at or near the surface during the growing season. Sx is shown to be declining but I think this assumes there is a decline in moisture availability which I question given these are often in riparian areas such as along lakes and ponds. Moisture availability is tied more closely to water levels than direct precipitation. I don't think the model is considering this information and assumes a decline in precipitation automatically signifies these sites see a similar decline in moisture availability. I dont think Pl would be a tertiary species on this type of site - I would have said it was a E4. Act is potentially possible on this site but again it looks like the model assumes the site will become drier in the future and Act will decline also. This is questionable given the moisture availability on these sites is based more on subirrigation and seepage than on direct precipitation. I doubt Ep occurs at all in the IDFxh1. Also Py would be a E5 species on this type of site - not E3.
