Description
Decline in Pl feasibility in the Peace Region on dry and zonal sites = BWBSmw. Future BGCs are SBSmh (Pl=E2/E1) near Quesnel, SBAPcp (no Pl) near Edmonton, and BWBSdmN (some site types projected do not contain Pl) Grand Prairie to High Level area.
• Loss of Pl feasibility is driven by a shift to SBAP units (Sub-Boreal Aspen Parkland) which do not support Pl on dry or zonal sites.
• SBSmh (along the Fraser River, Quesnel to PG) is projected for this area as well, further into the future, Pl = E1/E2 for site series projected onto BWBSmw/101.
• This is a lower elevation area, in the rain shadow of the Rocky Mountains, which is projected to become drier.
