Description

Slight increases in Cw suitability in the IDFdk3 (Williams Lake area)
• Precipitation change in the central interior is bifurcating, about half of models projecting wetter, half drier
• Analogs for the wetter climates are ICHxm1 and IDFmw2, where Cw is E2 on mesic, E3 on subxeric (IDFmw2 only), and E1 on hygric.
Also, SBSmh, in which Cw is not feasible.
• Analogs for the drier climates are IDFxh1, where Cw is only feasible on hygric sites.
• Recent climate has been dryer than historical (analog IDFdk3/IDFxm)
• The actual feasibility increase is very small (~0.5), so this isn’t an area where cedar would be considered for reforestation anyways.
