Description
Nutrient-poor mesic site on coarse soils. Forest canopy dominated by Pl with minor Sx and occasional Bl. Stand-destroying events dominant disturbance type.
Models show moderate decelin in Pl, strong decline in Sx, strong decline in Bl and high suitability for Fd throughout years. Lw shows about 50% moderate to good suitability and Py shows moderate suitability eventually reacing about 30%.
Model already shows most models have IDFdk1 as dominant model initially but I think the resulting promotion of Fd right at the beginning is too high. These areas often exhibit cold air drainages and have early spring frosts which damage and kills Fd particularly in clearcuts. So Fd should be less suitable than it is initially and Lw should be similar to Fd. I think the decline in Sx and Pl is too strong given the models start out with many starting with the IDFdk1 as the original starting point.
