Description
:clipboard: **Description**
Looks like Microsoft is making Boards/backlog data available via a native badge (and presumably an open source api), https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/release-notes/2019/sprint-150-update#share-you-teams-board-using-a-badge
Would be good to include this functionality in Shields too once the features are rolled out.
I'l update this with more info as it becomes available.

Research direction
Start with the Azure DevOps Boards release-notes link in the issue and verify whether the native badge or an open API is available and what data it exposes. Define the badge metric, endpoint and authentication requirements, with an example; done means the service details and implementation scope are concrete enough to build and test in Shields.
