Description
As highlighted in https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php, PHP 8.1 went EOL at the start of the year.
Just like we did in the past, it's time to drop support for it, saving resources for our jobs and pushing the ecosystem to more modern versions.
As usual, users of PHP 8.1 can still get support from the previous versions of this library.
Additionally, we'll be able to leverage the features listed in https://www.php.net/releases/8.2/en.php

Research direction
The issue names no files or tests. Start by locating the project's PHP version constraints and CI configuration, then identify compatibility changes enabled by PHP 8.2. Done means PHP 8.1 is no longer supported, supported-version checks pass, and the test suite succeeds on the remaining versions.
