Description
Can we possibly get a new tagged release?
Current `pre-commit` releases seem to have an issue with the last tagged version, but it works just fine when you point to a recent commit hash on the default branch.

Research direction
Inspect the latest tagged release and compare it with a recent commit on the default branch, focusing on the reported pre-commit behavior. Check the repository's release and tagging process, verify whether the newer commit resolves the issue, and confirm that a new tag would produce a working pre-commit release.
