Description

Would it be possible to cut a new release from the latest commit to master? Reason being that until a tag is created which includes #116 pre-commit users need use a commit hash rather than a release tag which may be confusing to newcomers expecting pre-commit support when they look at the codebase, given that the norm when using a hook is to use a tag

Research direction

Review the latest commit on master and issue #116 to confirm that pre-commit support is included. Follow the repository's release and tagging process, then verify that the new release tag contains that support and is available for users expecting a tagged release.
