**Tell us about your request**
In v1.23 of kubernetes there is a featuregate StatefulSetAutoDeletePVC, which will allow statefulSets to retain/delete PVCs when the statefulSet is deleted or scaled down, opposed to having to remove the PVCs manually. Please could this be enabled so it can be used?
**Which service(s) is this request for?**
EKS
**Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard?**
Currently PVCs need to be removed manually when using statefulSets and volumeClaimTemplates, for example via a helm chart. This will enable users to be able to automatically delete when the statefulSet is deleted or scaled down
**Are you currently working around this issue?**
Remove manually / track unmounted volumes in kubecost

Research direction
The issue names EKS and Kubernetes 1.23's StatefulSetAutoDeletePVC feature gate but mentions no repository files, tests, or entry points. Start by determining how this roadmap tracks EKS feature-gate requests; done would require confirmation that the gate is enabled for supported Kubernetes versions.
