**Tell us about your request**
I'd like to be able to schedule and isolate certain pods on my EKS cluster using Firecracker VMs. I suspect that I might be able to do this currently with a custom AMI but ideally this should be a well documented out-of-the-box capability.

**Which service(s) is this request for?**
EKS

**Tell us about the problem you're trying to solve. What are you trying to do, and why is it hard?**
I'd like to be able to have greater isolation for some of my workloads while still running them on standard cluster nodes

**Are you currently working around this issue?**

**Additional context**
I think this aligns with https://github.com/bottlerocket-os/bottlerocket/issues/812 and is related to [running Krustlet on EKS](https://docs.krustlet.dev/howto/krustlet-on-eks/) (I'm surprised there is no roadmap Krustlet/WASM issue logged).

Research direction

The request names EKS, Firecracker VMs, custom AMIs, pods, and Krustlet, but it does not identify repository files, tests, or implementation entry points. Start by determining whether EKS has an existing roadmap or documentation location for workload isolation; done would require a defined, supported out-of-the-box capability and corresponding documentation.
