Description
Description:
The Amazon Q Developer extension is not loading properly when installed in a remote container environment running OpenVSCode Server.
Environment:
- Extension Version: 1.75.0
- Platform: OpenVSCode Server in remote container
- Extension: Amazon Q Developer
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up OpenVSCode Server in a remote container environment
2. Install Amazon Q Developer extension v1.75.0
3. Attempt to initialize/load the extension
Current Behavior:
- Extension fails to load
- Does not initialize properly in the remote container environment
Expected Behavior:
- Extension should load and initialize successfully in the remote container environment
- All features should be functional as expected
Workaround:
- Downgrading to version 1.62.0 resolves the issue
Additional Notes:
- Issue appears to be a regression in versions newer than 1.62.0
- Problem is specifically related to remote container environments
Impact:
Unable to use Amazon Q Developer features in remote container development environments unless using an older version.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the failure with Amazon Q Developer v1.75.0 in an OpenVSCode Server remote container, then compare it with the working v1.62.0 setup. Inspect the extension initialization logs to identify the regression. Done means the extension loads and initializes successfully in the remote container with its features functional.
